The Consent Form assigns the right to the organisers of the Qantas Film and Television Awards to use excerpts from the submitted entry for the broadcasting of the Awards ceremony as well as permission to reproduce stills and clips for the Awards' media coverage.

STEP SIX

The only exception to the above is if you are entering your feature film in less categories you will be contacted directly regarding the number of DVDs to supply.

PROTECTING YOUR PROPERTY FROM PIRACY

The Qantas Film and Television Awards committee takes piracy issues very seriously  and we would like to draw your attention to the following measures we have put in place to reduce the risk for all award entrants.

  1. The New Zealand Film Commission recommends that all entrants in the film categories apply a watermark for protection.  There is a one-off set up cost involved to do this but once you have applied for the watermark you can use it as often as required.
  2. Entrants in all categories have the option of providing a self addressed courier pack so that all materials can be returned to their owners at the conclusion of the competition.
  3. Our judges have been selected because of their standing and experience in the industry and they respect the work of others and are committed to the integrity of the competition.
  4. All judges are required to sign a confidentiality agreement  (this includes specific reference to ensuring that all entry material is treated as privileged and confidential, and will be returned to the entrant). Judges also receive an information sheet designed by NZFact (New Zealand Federation Against Copyright Theft) that outlines how to keep DVDs safe during the judging period.
  5. We will be aggressive in prosecuting anyone who breaches any relevant laws.

If you have any queries, concerns, or feedback on the above, please contact the Qantas Film and Television Awards project manager Denise Armstrong at darmstrong@dazzleevents.co.nz or phone 04 494 5131, or write to PO Box 24 144 Wellington.
